A very interesting experience with leeches

You might have heard about leeches, but not about its features.

Even i haven't heard much about it but I have experience. I had gone to MUNNAR during the rainy season.I could just see tea estates around me. 3/4th of Munnar were tea estates, the labourers were plucking tea leaves.Iwent to Munnar by car with my parents.I plucked abt 2-3 tea leaves since it smelled good .In the evening I realised that there was something between my toes,I closely looked at it.I found out that it was a leech. My father tried to take it off,but it wouln't come off so easily. We struggled to take it off and at last it got off.I din't have pain at all and I din't even have the feeling that there was something between my toes.It was sucking my blood may be for 3-4 hrs!!!.Till night the bleeding i didn't stop .I tried putting band -aid and all .Thank Goodness!in the morning it had stopped.
The main part was that it was between my toes for quite a long time but I felt no pain !
I wondered how the labourers plucked tea leaves daily.
Their secret was that they used some kind of spray to get rid of the leeches. The leeches are allergic to the smell.

A few months later, we went to Wayanad / Lakkidi. The leeches showed liking to my brother Hariharan and my mom. With our previous experience in Munnar, we applied salt and got rid of them. My brother, who was 4 years old got scared and cried for a long time.

So when you go to Munnar take band aid &if ur bitten by a leech ask for salt and apply it on the affected part.
